Summer, in the traditional sense, is almost over. For students at my university, there’s about six weeks left before we have to do anything vaguely work related. I’ve done some reading prep for the first term though and am super excited for one of my Michaelmas modules – Robin Hood. As well I’ve been writing a few articles for different websites and will be soon off to London for work experience.
Apart from that, summer has been a time of lazy days and long stretched out nights. There’s something odd about having so much free time all at once. It’s not that I’m complaining, it’s that doing anything at all becomes a challenge.
Luckily, it has given me a great chance to write! There’s still two novels that I’m working on – my contemporary YA and a YA time travel story. Progress on the time travel story is very fast, probably because it’s my New Shiny project.
It’s nice to be writing again, to be spending time doing something that isn’t for anyone else. Writing late at night is especially fun; sometimes sitting with my cat and sometimes sitting alone, writing into the night.
You might be able to tell I’m not used to blogging, that sometimes I treat blogging like a diary, but I think I’m learning. I’ll have a few more posts up soon.
